Homebrewing is like Cooking

For those of you who don't know what homebrewing is imagine cooking your favorite meal. Let's assume it's a grilled cheese sandwich. In order to prepare a basic grilled cheese sandwich you need a few basic things, the cheese and bread. When you put these two together you get a decent grilled cheese sandwich. But what if you want something better. You might look to add better ingredients first including a better cheese or bread. Then you may want to give it more flavor by adding butter and ham. Before you know it your making a grilled cheese an artform.

Starting in Homebrewing is the same basic principle. You need to understand that it takes a while before you'll know what makes a decent homebrew. Don't get frustrated. You make mistakes sometimes and understanding what mistakes you made is very important. It takes a lot of patience though.
